An absolute delight!
and a quick reminder of Stacy Henrie's capability in storytelling. Emotionally evocative, Hope's Promise is a short story richly satisfying in faith and familiarity of well drawn characters met earlier in Hope Rising book 2 'Of Love and War' series. I loved seeing Sergeant George Dennis in his farm home setting, struggling with his current setting while longing for commitment to a future. A future with a love of which he's unsure. Tenderly written and experienced in the reading. On both sides of the relationship, as we're privy to Nurse Alice Thornton's heart desires though being pursued for a different future than she'd desired.
Wonderfully satisfying conclusion, tears included!
Thanks, Stacy, for wrapping this one with a bow.

Rosamund Pilcher's short stories are warm and memorable. So are some of L. M. Montgomery's recently discovered ones, but some of them are also very dark.
